The Islington Design District launched in September 2014 as part of the London Design Festival to bring together a new and exciting collection of design-led shops, showrooms and cafes in the Islington area. This year IDD will be back bigger and better. The London Design Festival 2016 will run from 17th - 25th September. It is one of the world's most important annual design events. Over 300 design-led events and exhibitions including those the are part of Islington Design District take place across the city.

The Islington Design District is a collaborative event made up of 15 design shops and showrooms across Islington and includes Adventures in Furniture, Ariacanvas home, Curiousa & Curiousa, CTO LightingHome & Pantry, Molly MegPresent & Correct, Quill LondonRuberg Jewellery, SMUG,, Timorous Beastiestwentytwentyone and Wallace Sewell. Each partner will celebrate the Festival by holding exhibitions, putting on one-off activities and/or launching new products and exclusives.

CAFÉ SMUG will be open every day as the IDD hub, serving delicious barista made coffee from Ozone, homemade sweet treats and tasty savoury lunch options. Free wifi will also be provided for design hunters seeking to snap and hashtag their favourite IDD products and discoveries.

The Islington Design District forms a trail that can be walked from Amwell Street south of Angel, through to Camden Passage and along Upper Street. Take the trail to discover new designers, special product launches, collaborative exhibitions and one-off events and collect stamps on your map along to way. Visiting every design location on the map will allow you to collect all of the partner stamps available. Once you have a full map of stamps you are eligible for free gifts and special offers in all IDD shops. Join us in Islington for late night openings and drinks on Tuesday 20th September and take part in design-led events throughout the week.
