CAFÉ SMUG will be open every day as the IDD hub, downstairs at SMUG, serving delicious barista made coffee from Ozone, homemade sweet treats and tasty savoury lunch options.
The SMUG Festival Afternoon Tea will be launched especially, comprising of a pot of tea, finger sandwiches, scones and jam and a slice of cake homemade by SMUG owner Lizzie Evans. These sweet and savoury treats will be served on bespoke plates and trays from Lizzie's brand new pattern collection - Lizzie for SMUG.
Free wifi will also be provided for design hunters seeking to snap and hashtag their favourite IDD products and discoveries.
Firm Islington favourite Ottolenghi is launching a limited edition cake in celebration of London Design Festival, exclusively for the Islington Design District. Stop by at any time during the Festival to try the new London Design Festival Pavlova with Passion Fruit Cream, Mango and Berries. It's as beautiful as it is delicious.
Oldroyd, the 40-cover neighbourhood restaurant nestled neatly on Upper Street, and the first solo venture from Tom Oldroyd, is joining the Islington Design District for 2016. The restaurant, split across two floors, has a downstairs available for walk-ins only and a first floor bistro-style dining room dedicated to bookings, as well as a small al fresco seating area at the front. Throughout the Festival, Oldroyd will be offering a free glass of wine with lunch to London Design Festival map holders. For food, expect locally sourced, fresh quality British produce with Tom's travel-inspired take on classic European dishes.
